A healthcare service in Tasmania seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse - SANE Student to support clinical training in a 24/7 response team for sexual assault and domestic violence cases. This fixed-term, casual position allows nursing professionals to gain essential experience under supervision while pursuing an accredited SANE training course. The role includes willingness for on-call duties and aims to enhance management of trauma cases, contributing significantly to community health efforts.
The Hospitals North Sexual Assault and Forensic Medicine Examination (SAFE) Service provides a 24-hour, 7 days per week response to adults and children with an alleged sexual assault or family/domestic violence incident. The SAFE team consists of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Clinical Nurse Consultants with support from suitably trained medical officers in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Paediatrics. The SAFE team is part of Hospitals North Women's and Children's Services and supports ongoing professional development with free Clinical Supervision within work time.
This fixed term Registered Nurse - SANE Student position supports the clinician to gain clinical experience while undertaking an accredited SANE training course. The Registered Nurse - SANE Student works under the direct supervision of a SANE during this training period.

The Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services. It provides community health, mental health, and primary healthcare services to the Tasmanian community through more than 300 sites. Fixed term, casual, shift worker position, working as and when required, for a period of approximately twelve (12) months. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. The selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies for up to twelve months from publication.
$80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Employer superannuation contribution is 12% on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439 - $109,175 is subject to progression to Grade 4. Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% may be available based on qualification type.
You’ll have access to salary packaging with a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year and other benefits if eligible.
