Qualifications

About the Role

We are keen to speak with an accomplished manager with a deep understanding of the complexities and rewards of working with young people in residential care. You must have a wealth of knowledge in safeguarding, child development, emotional and behavioural support, and regulatory compliance, ensuring that every aspect of the home operates to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and delivering high‑quality care.
  • Build and manage a team of committed careworkers, fostering a positive and supportive culture.
  • Oversee all elements of the home's operations, including safeguarding, care planning, quality assurance and recruitment.
  • Build strong relationships with young people, families, staff, external agencies, and commissioners
  • Manage budgets effectively and ensure the home meets both operational and financial targets.
What We're Looking For
Essential
  • NVQ Level 3/4 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted requirements
  • A working knowledge of supporting children with EBD needs
  • Proven management experience in a similar environment
  • A genuine passion for working with children with complex behavioural needs
Desirable
  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or equivalent
  • Established network within the children's services
  • Willingness to shape policies, team culture, and recruitment strategy
