Your Role

As our Registered Manager, you’ll lead a warm, ambitious and child-centred home that puts relationships, stability and progress at its heart. You’ll provide clear leadership for your team, ensure the highest standards of care, and bring energy, curiosity and rigour to Ofsted compliance, safeguarding and day-to-day practice. You’ll oversee all aspects of the home, from team development and placement planning to creating a space where young people feel safe, valued and able to thrive. This is a role where your professional judgement and relational leadership really matter.

About You

You may be an established Registered Manager looking for your next developmental step if so, we’d welcome you and support you to broaden your impact, refine your leadership and grow into wider strategic responsibilities. Equally, you may be an ambitious deputy or senior ready to step up. If that’s you, we’re very open to a conversation we simply need to see your drive, resilience and evidence that you’re ready for registration. Whichever route you’re on, you’ll bring strong values, a commitment to children’s rights and trauma-informed care, and the ability to lead teams through calm, confident and thoughtful practice.

About Us

Stockport is a council with ambition, purpose and heart. We are developing our children’s homes significantly over the coming months, with additional homes being added to our current provision, genuinely exciting times to join us as we strengthen and expand our in-house offer.

You’ll be part of a service that values reflective practice, professional curiosity and supportive leadership. And, cheeky but true, you’ll enjoy the stability, pension, development opportunities and ethical practice that come with working for a local authority, without the profit-driven pressures found elsewhere.

At Stockport Council we are one ambitious team on a mission to create opportunities for everyone who lives, works and spends time in the borough. Working at Stockport Council means contributing to one of the most thriving towns in the North. We’re keen to recruit people with the right values and behaviours that can help us ensure our workplace values are at the heart of everything we do.
