Job description
REGISTERED GENERAL NURSE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Assessment and Care Planning : Conduct comprehensive health assessments, monitor vital signs, and interpret patient data.
  • Medication Management : Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and company guidelines. Monitor residents for any effects of medication and report changes promptly.
  • Wound Care and Medical Procedures : Perform various clinical procedures such as wound dressing, managing injections, and overseeing specialist equipment like IV drips.
  • Health Promotion and Monitoring : Monitor residents' reactions to treatments, report changes in conditions to doctors, and adjust care strategies as necessary. Educate residents and their families on health management and preventative care.
  • Leadership and Supervision : Lead the care team during shifts, supervising, mentoring, and guiding junior staff such as care assistants and support workers. Ensure high standards of care are maintained consistently.
  • Documentation and Compliance : Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident records and ensure all care adheres to regulatory frameworks, including CQC guidelines and data protection legislation.
  • Emergency Response : Be prepared to respond to emergencies and urgent situations, delivering immediate interventions when necessary.
  • Communication and Collaboration : Liaise effectively with visiting GPs, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other external healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive, holistic care.
