Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced nursing leader to join our Transcare team.

In this role, youll lead and manage nursing operations across your region, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care and compliance.

Youll inspire and motivate your team, drive quality initiatives, and support business growth while maintaining a strong patient focus.

Location: Working with trusts and patients in London and the surrounding areas.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours over 5 days per week. This is primarily a management position however flexibility is key. You may need to carry out patient visits as required by the region and take part in the escalation on-call rota quarterly, which involves weekend availability.

Main duties of the job

Your main responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day nursing activities across the region.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, CQC regulations, and clinical governance standards.
  • Drive quality improvements and share best practice.
  • Manage staff rotas, performance reviews, and competency assessments.
  • Support recruitment and resource planning.
  • Provide clinical leadership and maintain your own clinical skills through patient visits.
  • Respond to complaints and safeguarding issues promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with marketing and business development teams to promote Transcare services.

What you need to succeed:

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Minimum 3 years post-registration clinical homecare experience.
  • Previous management experience with proven ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Strong knowledge of HPN and CVAD management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively.

Job responsibilities
  • To be responsible and accountable for the day to day activities of the regions nursing activity.
  • Ensure that the team has a passion for service delivery by promoting and driving forward the companys quality agenda, setting clear standards and encouraging knowledge sharing and best practice within the team.
  • Maintain an open, honest and transparent reputation for the company. Ensure timely and robust investigations and responses to complaints and safeguarding issues are reported as per company requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain agreed KPIs for the nursing service.
  • Identify challenges and opportunities for improvement for the nursing service and to work with the National Nurse Manager to respond to them.
  • To promote TransCare as a leading Homecare company in conjunction with the nursing and sales & marketing strategies.
  • To maintain own self clinical skills and ensure regular patient visits incorporated into the nursing rota. As required by the business.
  • To adopt an effective approach to performance management ensuring regular one to one meetings with all TransCare nurses within the region in line with XCD, leading to end of year reviews.
  • To ensure region is compliant with all regulations overarching TransCare nursing processes.
  • To provide regular updates and reports on the region as required by the National Nurse Manager.
  • Support PDNs in ensuring that the competency of all the TransCare Nurses is maintained and recorded including yearly update training in order to maintain and comply with NMC registration and Revalidation requirements, and TransCare training matrix.
  • Conduct field visits to provide support, assess competency, adherence to ANTT and compliance with local Trust and National Framework requirements.
  • To work with the National Nurse Manager and business unit to identify and recruit appropriate resources to meet the demand of the business.
  • To administer the company expenses/holiday policy.
  • Support the marketing function with provision of clinical advice during the development of literature/new therapies as well as competitor activities.
  • To attend local and national seminars as appropriate. Keep updated with professional issues and developments in practices, providing feedback to colleagues.
  • To ensure all practice conforms to TransCare work instructions and SOPs as available on BKC.
  • To act in a professional manner at all times in order to promote a positive image of the Company.
  • Any other duties which do not change the nature of this post.
