EMEA Regional Environmental Safety & Health (EHS) Manager

Department: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)

General Description: The EH&S Manager will document and implement programs to deliver Health and Safety compliance for the client account across the EMEA region. The programs must assure systematic plans for daily management and improvement with effective reporting and progress review methods. This position will provide guidance and support to regional directors, site management program owners and site personnel across multiple facilities to ensure compliance with EH&S requirements through the design, organization, implementation and maintenance of policies, procedures and programs.

The role is highly visible and fast‑paced. The successful candidate must ensure that critical stakeholders such as employees and clients receive timely, relevant information and appropriate counsel for EH&S matters. They must have an acute eye for EH&S risk and be able to foster a strong culture of health and safety, delivering world‑class EH&S results, improved productivity and flawless execution.

As a member of the Work Dynamics EH&S team, they will support the implementation of the JLL EH&S strategy and the role reports directly to the Global Account Director. Day‑to‑day accountability is to the JLL Account Global EH&S Director with regular reporting on EH&S performance across the account to the Account Leadership team and the client.

Other key stakeholders include the account leads for regional operations, country leads, engineering, risk & compliance, finance, HR, projects and client corporate real estate team leads.

Responsibilities
  • Implement comprehensive EH&S programs and initiatives that comply with regulatory requirements and promote employee participation and accountability (e.g., contractor safety, isolation of hazardous energy, chemical management and emergency procedures).
  • Ensure continuity and sustainability of the Safety Management System that supports identification, elimination and control of hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage using safety standards, best management practices and analytical techniques.
  • Lead a team of Safety and Contract Risk Management Professionals and ensure that appropriate site and business‑specific programs are implemented, documented and standardized to effectively and efficiently meet CPI/KPIs and legal requirements. Programs must comply with regulatory, client and company requirements.
  • Develop and conduct training in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Ensure proper documentation of training.
  • Assist sites in performing job safety analysis and developing safe work procedures.
  • Conduct safety inspections and program audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collect data, provide information and reports as needed to support the client’s compliance programs.
  • Participate and conduct compliance audits across sites.
  • Ensure incident investigation, root‑cause analysis, record‑keeping and follow‑ups are conducted. Make recommendations for prevention based on investigation results.
  • Monitor record‑keeping and reporting performance for risk‑related requirements and objectives.
  • Develop and implement ISO management systems such as ISO 14001 and 45001 across multiple sites or regions to ensure compliance with ISO standards and achieve/maintain ISO certification.
  • Provide guidance and support to site managers and EHS teams to establish and maintain ISO‑related documentation, policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to verify ISO compliance and address any non‑conformities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate ISO certification and maintain ongoing compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations across all sites.
  • Monitor, assess and report on environmental performance indicators such as air emissions, water usage, waste management and hazardous materials handling.
  • Develop and implement strategies and programs to minimize environmental impacts and promote sustainable practices.
  • Coordinate environmental monitoring activities including air quality testing, water sampling and waste management.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 10 years EH&S management experience within operational management systems and working with corporate clients.
  • A strong understanding of the EH&S regulatory environment for the area of responsibility.
  • Appropriate recognized professional EH&S qualifications and memberships.
  • Degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred. Knowledge of safety requirements, fundamentals of safety education, industrial safety, risk management and the application of data automation to the safety function highly desired.
  • Strong cultural awareness: unwavering ethical standards; drives excellence and innately collaborative. Understands how to be effective operating across geographies and cultures.
  • Ability to work well with others at all levels and across organizations. Must be able to get results through others without having direct reports.
  • Ability to speak in front of a large audience and deliver in‑person and remote EH&S training effectively.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and software such as MS Office programs, Outlook, etc.
