About the role

Are you a dynamic influencer with a proven track record in large, matrix-based organizations? We’re seeking a Regional EHS Director who can shape and drive Environmental, Health, and Safety strategy across multiple manufacturing sites and office locations in Europe. This is a high-impact leadership role where your ability to engage, coach, and influence senior executives and cross-functional teams will be critical to transforming our safety culture and operational standards.

This is a remote role which can be based anywhere in Europe. Please note, we are not using recruitment agencies to fill this role.

Key responsibilities
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Team, providing expert EHS guidance.
  • Develop and implement a regional EHS strategy and standards aligned with global objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a network of EHS leaders, fostering accountability and collaboration.
  • Champion a proactive, behaviour‑driven safety culture across all levels of the organization.
  • Design and lead regional campaigns and engagement programmes to raise awareness and promote accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international EHS and Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations.
  • Oversee internal and external EHS audits, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are shared regionally and globally.
  • Provide due diligence and risk management support for M&A, new sites, and large‑scale projects.
What you’ll need to be successful
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent) in Health & Safety, Environmental Management/Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of EHS leadership experience within manufacturing (ideally FMCG, food, chemical, or pharmaceutical sectors).
  • Demonstrated expertise managing PSM risks and regulatory compliance across multiple sites.
  • Advanced knowledge of EHS management systems and PSM frameworks (e.g., HAZOP, FMEA, LOPA).
  • Strategic mindset with strong influencing and stakeholder management skills across cultures.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop multi‑site teams, driving and embedding behavioural and cultural change.
  • Integrity, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Willingness to travel regionally up to 50% of the time.
