Job description

Edinburgh College is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person to take up the post of Recruitment and Admissions Officer, within the Recruitment and Admissions team. This role can be worked at either our Milton Road or Sighthill Campus.

Some key duties, but not limited to:

  • Support student recruitment by providing information on course choices to matcha prospective student with a suitable course
  • Attend student recruitmentevents to promote the College and the courses on offer, this includes for example open days, clearing events and career fairs
  • Support in person services, examples include providing course information and application support, gathering information and documentation to support applications, drop-in sessions for self-enrolment and processing Protecting Vulnerable Group (PVG) application.
  • Provide a student selection and admissions service for all types of applications, including scoring applications according to set criteria (including academic qualifications and personal statements)
  • Responsible for assessing and processing fee status questionnaires, passports, VISA documentation, Government share codes and any other home office documentation required to assess if an applicant will be a Home or International student for fee purposes and to communicate the outcomes to applicants and or relevant staff and stakeholders via email, phone or in person
  • Deal with all types of enquiries ranging from telephone calls, in person student facing enquires, emails, mail, webchat or any other type of student focussed activity as directed
  • Work closely with MIS checking student information and processing updates/amendments as necessary to ensure the integrity of FES submissions to the Scottish Funding Council
