Weekend Receptionist

Location: Lancaster, Lancashire

Service: Ashton Manor Care Home

Salary: £13.45 per hour with overtime paid at £14.95 per hour

Hours: Part-time, 15 hours a week, 9am - 5pm shifts every Saturday & Sunday

About the Role

Evermore Care is seeking an experienced Weekend Receptionist to join the team at Ashton Manor, our state‑of‑the‑art care home in Lancaster, on a permanent part‑time basis - working Saturday and Sunday 9am until 5pm. You will play a crucial role in providing a first point of contact service for our home, both in‑person and via calls and emails, whilst also supporting our administration service in handling records and scheduling training and other meetings. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in residents' lives while working as part of a supportive and dedicated team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors, residents, families and contractors.
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering calls, emails and managing enquiries.
  • Meet, greet and sign in visitors, assisting with show rounds and supporting sales enquiries.
  • Deliver clerical support including filing, photocopying, updating databases and managing electronic records.
  • Prepare and maintain resident paperwork, welcome packs and up‑to‑date records.
  • Coordinate staff training, monitor outstanding training and support with scheduling.
  • Communicate with families through updates, calls, emails, photos and videos.
  • Organise and coordinate resident visits to the home.
  • Use care home software, emails and Microsoft Office applications confidently.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.
  • Ensure reception and communal areas are kept tidy, safe and presentable.
  • Handle and record residents’ finances accurately and responsibly, following company policy.
About you
  • Experience of working within a care environment (desirable)
  • Friendly, confident and approachable, with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organised, with good time management and attention to detail.
  • Strong IT and administrative skills (Microsoft Office, email, databases, electronic records).
  • Quick to learn new technology and confident in basic troubleshooting.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Energetic, compassionate and committed to excellent customer service.
