Job summary

A busy healthcare company in Cardiff City Centre is seeking a dependable Receptionist for an ongoing, temporary role. The ideal candidate will offer accurate and confidential reception assistance and demonstrates strong communication abilities along with attention to detail. Responsibilities include providing a welcoming reception service, handling queries, performing administrative tasks, and maintaining confidentiality. This is a fully on-site position, requiring flexibility and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (A-C / 4-9) required.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
  • Previous reception/administration experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one needed.

Job title: Receptionist

Contract: Ongoing Temporary

Hours: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Salary: £24,833p/a

Location: Cardiff City Centre

A busy healthcare company is seeking a dependable Receptionist to provide accurate, confidential reception assistance on an ongoing, temporary basis. This is a fully on‑site role requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a clinical environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a welcoming face‑to‑face reception service to patients, visitors and staff.
  • Handle clinical and non‑clinical queries by phone, email and in person, taking and passing on accurate messages.
  • Perform general admin duties including data entry, photocopying, scanning, filing and typing.
  • Deal with incoming and outgoing post and emails, prioritising workload effectively.
  • Obtain, file and retrieve clinical and non‑clinical records in line with Health Board policies.
  • Assist with arranging meetings, including booking rooms and preparing papers.
  • Liaise with Estates/Facilities regarding basic building or office maintenance issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality, information governance and Health & Safety standards at all times.
  • Support colleagues during busy periods and staff absence; be flexible to work across sites if required.

Qualifications and Skills
  • 5 forests (or equivalent) including Maths and English (A‑C / 4‑9).
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel gjdbv).
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Good organisation, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage own workload.
  • Flexibility regarding duties and shift patterns; ability to travel between sites if needed.

  • Previous reception/administration experience in healthcare or a similar environment is desirable.
