Job Description - Receptionist (SHO00HP)

Location: Somerset BA1 7LL

Salary: £12.25 - £13.25 per hour / depending on experience

About the role

Shockerwick House is an historic building that has been converted into a care facility, offering nursing and residential care, convalescence, palliative, short stays for a minimum of one week and day care. The home is located on the outskirts of Bath’s World Heritage Site, with wheelchair-friendly gardens, an orangery, and a secure entry/exit system and 24-hour call system to help residents feel safe and secure. Bedrooms have their own TV and telephone. Special diets are catered for and there are oak-panelled dining rooms with hot and cold options. Activities include relaxation sessions, manicures, foot spas, arts and crafts, and musical afternoons.

Responsibilities
  • Acting as the first point of contact for all visitors to the home
  • Taking responsibility for managing new enquiries
  • Providing advice and support both face to face and over the phone
  • Conducting show-arounds within the care home
  • Supporting the Home Manager and Administrator with clerical duties such as maintaining paperwork and filing
  • Dealing with enquiries in a timely manner and ensuring daily and weekly tasks are completed
Qualifications / Skills
  • Experience as a Receptionist with a track record of providing excellent customer service
  • Friendly, approachable, and well-organised with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and internal teams
  • Ability to handle a varied workload with a caring attitude that underpins everything you do
