Overview

Reception Teaching Assistant

Immediate start until July 2026. Salary: £80 - £90 per day. Location: Wolverhampton. Aimed at gaining hands-on EYFS experience before teacher training, with focused 1:1 and small group support to help children settle, learn, and thrive.

Responsibilities
  • Support Reception pupils through play-based learning, early phonics and number, routines, and personal development.
  • Prepare simple resources, guide small groups, provide 1:1 support, and keep concise notes on progress.
  • Help maintain a calm, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
The Candidate

You communicate clearly, bring a warm, consistent approach, and enjoy working with young children. You can follow guidance, use initiative, and build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Requirements
  • Degree - A 2:2 or above in any subject.
  • Communication - Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Enhanced DBS - Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Desire to work in education/with children - Strong interest in EYFS and early child development.
  • Experience working with children - Any relevant experience (nursery, tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.
