Job description

Ontic, an aerospace industry leading provider of ‘Extended Life Solutions’ for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) legacy and non-core products, has an opportunity for an Inspector (Receiving and Release) to join our team based at our Staverton site to support our continued success and ambitious growth plans.

What will you be doing?

You will receive assignments and general direction from the Deputy Operations Quality Manager while communicating frequently with our Supplier Quality, Buyers, Suppliers, and Programmes teams. Your responsibilities include providing a wide variety of quality inspections on aerospace/marine parts and assemblies. You will oversee product and certification conformance to design data, customer specifications, or purchase order requirements, and review First Articles Inspection Reports in accordance with AS9102. Ensuring that quality standards and specifications are met on incoming and outgoing products, you will use various inspection tools and devices to inspect complex mechanical parts both visually and dimensionally.

What knowledge/skills will you need?

You should be able to confidently read engineering drawings and check components against requirements, as well as use precision measuring tools. Experience operating a CMM with ‘PC DMIS software’ is preferred but not essential. Ideally, you will have previous or current experience working in an inspection role. You should be an excellent problem solver with strong attention to detail.
