A local council in the UK is seeking a candidate to manage a team of reablement staff and ensure effective service delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a full driving license, and the ability to work in health and social care settings. Evidence of conduct in previous employment related to health or social care or safeguarding of children or vulnerable adults may be requested. Proof of identity, full employment history and evidence of right to work in the UK are required before commencement. This role is not eligible for Skilled Worker sponsorship.
The role holder will effectively manage a team of reablement staff, undertake all management activities, coach staff, observe practice, evaluate performance and implement support to ensure continual service improvement and improved outcomes for citizens.
Key duties include managing an effective rota system for reablement support workers, ensuring timely responses to service requests with real-time capacity information, and overseeing health and safety issues for staff and customers. You will disseminate new directorate initiatives and address skills gaps. The role is based at Reablement South at Trafford House.
About the Candidate
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about changing the lives of Manchester residents, is a good team player with strong communication skills, and can plan and organise time effectively, prioritise, and set realistic timescales. The candidate should be able to use IT systems to obtain and analyse data and present it through ICT channels, including spreadsheets. They should be a good problem solver and decision-maker, capable of analysing situations, diagnosing problems, evaluating alternatives, and delivering practical solutions. The candidate should be able to lead, manage and motivate staff to achieve high performance and contribute to organisational objectives. Willingness to work in a social care and health setting with understanding of relevant legislation is required.
