Material Handler - Raw Material Handler

Location: Cramlington

Contract Type: Temporary

Hourly Rate: £12.65

Contract Length: 12 Months

Working Pattern: Full Time

Are you ready to make a difference in the life sciences industry? Join our dynamic team in Cramlington, where we empower our customers to create a healthier, cleaner, and safer world! We are on the lookout for a dedicated Material Handler - Raw Material Handler to support our production operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming raw materials against documentation.
  • Label, store, and organise raw materials according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and storage requirements.
  • Issue raw materials to production based on work orders and batch records.
  • Accurately record material movements using inventory systems or manual logs.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and support cycle counts.
  • Ensure materials are handled in compliance with Good Manufacturing practises (GMP), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and safety standards.
  • Operate material handling equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.) if certified.
  • Keep raw material storage areas clean and organised.
  • Identify and report damaged, expired, or non-conforming materials.
  • Support audits and inspections as required.
  • Follow First In, First Out (FIFO) and First Expired, First Out (FEFO) inventory practises.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in material handling, warehousing, or manufacturing preferred.
  • Forklift or pallet jack certification preferred, or a willingness to obtain.
  • Knowledge of GMP or regulated environments is an advantage.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and work instructions.
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills.
  • Capability to lift and move materials (typically up to 40-50 lbs).
Work Environment
  • Warehouse or manufacturing setting.
  • May require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, gloves, gowns, etc.
  • This is a physical role involving standing, walking, and manual handling.
