An environmental charity is seeking a Conservation Ranger to join their team in Bridport. The role involves physical work in various locations, engaging with visitors about conservation efforts. Essential qualifications include practical experience in conservation, a full UK driving licence, and strong communication skills. The post-holder will be based at Filcombe Farm Morcombelake but the role will involve travel and working between multiple locations. The role often involves walking for long distances over undulating terrain and carrying heavy loads such as fence posts, gates, tools and equipment. A full driving licence is essential.
This is an exciting time to join the West Dorset & Cranborne Chase Team. We are a Restore Nature priority with big ambitions to support nature recovery at scale across Dorset & South Wiltshire. The Ranger will work with the Lead Ranger & Area Rangers to deliver nature conservation, access and visitor experience work, supporting multiple sites in West Dorset from the Golden Cap office.
You'll help protect and care for habitats, wildlife, buildings and machinery. You will pass on your knowledge and enthusiasm to encourage others to love this area. Wherever you encounter people, you'll take the time to talk and answer their questions, rather than rushing away. You will ensure that conservation work and outdoor experiences are of the highest standard and that community relationships are built, representing the Trust proudly.

Salary: £26,793 per annum. Contract: 12‑month Fixed‑Term Contract. Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week. Willingness to work some weekends, bank holidays, evenings, and be on call.
