The role includes conducting inspections, repairs, and modifications on rail fleets, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The position offers a 6-month contract with potential extensions, night shifts, and competitive pay rates. Ideal candidates will have a background in mechanical or electrical engineering and basic fault-finding skills.

Qualifications

• Background in mechanical or electrical engineering or a similar process-based environment.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements including manual handling.
• Ability to produce detailed technical reports when required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial inspections of wheelsets and bogies, recording all findings accurately.
• Safely remove axle bearings and other components without damage.
• Deliver high-quality mechanical repairs and modifications as part of the Engineering Team.
