Job description
Overview

A Vacancy at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This post offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in the radiotherapy service. The post holder will be an integral part of the administrative team, booking all appointments associated with the RT pathway (including both NHS and private), coordinating the different elements to ensure they are booked in the appropriate order and within the appropriate timeframe.

Responsibilities
  • The postholder will book all appointments associated with the RT pathway (both NHS and private), coordinating the different elements to ensure they are booked accurately and in the appropriate order.
  • They will manage the complex RT patient pathway to achieve good patient outcomes, including booking accommodation, transport and interpreters for patients travelling from different parts of the country.
  • The role involves effective communication with the full MDT (radiographers, clinical oncologists, health play specialists and the radiotherapy physics team) and liaising with staff from referring trusts and other organisations such as those who provide patient accommodation.
  • They will provide a highly supportive, high‑quality administrative service to all patients, carers and referring practitioners accessing RT services.
  • The postholder will support the delivery of performance targets, including activity and Cancer Waiting Times.
  • As a line manager of receptionists and planning coordinators, they will work closely with the wider RT clinical team and be based onsite.
  • They will also provide administrative support for the pre‑planning meetings of the SABR MDT and support the receptionists/planning coordinators team.
