Job summary

A leading motorsport team in the UK is seeking an experienced Mechanic to work closely with the No1 Mechanic and the car crew to ensure F1 cars are maintained to the highest standards. This role involves assisting with preparation, conducting inspections, and troubleshooting issues under pressure. Job Description

This role will work closely with the No1 Mechanic and the rest of the car crew to ensure the car is prepared to the highest standards for each F1 event. This role is pivotal in maintaining the performance, reliability and safety of the F1 car.

Key Accountabilities
  • Assist the No1 Mechanic in the preparation, maintenance, and repair of F1 cars.
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance tasks, including engine, transmission, and suspension work
  • Conduct pre-test inspections and ensure all systems are functioning optimally.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with the car and equipment.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations and team standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, drivers, and other team members to optimise car performance
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all tools, equipment and car parts are correctly stored and maintained.
  • Travel with the team to Race Support team tests, (Races if required) and promotional events.
Skills
  • Proven experience as a mechanic in a high-performance motorsport environment.
  • Strong understanding of race car mechanics and engineering principles.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, working unsociable hours including weekends and holidays.
