You will provide support to work to the highest standard using our model of practice Restorative Practice to deliver the vision. You will access a professional social work development offer that has been designed by social workers whatever stage you are at in your career. You will be given regular restorative supervision and separate supervision focussing on development and evidencing your SWE registration. Your new role

Southend on Sea City Council are looking to appoint a permanent part time (15.5hrs) adoption experienced Social Worker.

Part of this exciting position is to recruit assess and support prospective adopters to ensure that the care that they provide meets the needs of the individual child. Additionally they will family find and work in post adoption support.

The candidate will provide efficient and cost-effective social work services to children young people and their families. Developing a practice which takes a holistic view of the individual locating them in both their immediate and extended social circles and having full regard for the childs education social recreational and health needs. Also ensuring that investigations enquiries and assessments are completed to a high standard including care and adoption plans.

Within this position hybrid working opportunities are available.

What youll need to succeed

To be successful in this position you must be able to work in the UK have a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with the Social Work England and have completed your ASYE.

You will need to have two years experience of working within an adoption service and have a working knowledge of adoption regulations.

You must have the ability to build relationships have worked directly with children especially those where permanency was the plan. Produce clear well written and analytical assessments and possess a positive attitude so that you are able to adapt to the pace of change.

You will need strong communication skills and be able to organise yourself and others.

In addition you will need to possess adriving licence and have use of a car.

Please note that salaries and holiday entitlement will be pro ratad in line with the advertised hours for this position.
