Overview

Quantity Surveyor - Wolverhampton. West Midlands Permanent role paying £45K-£50K per year. Covering projects in the Wolverhampton area for a leading Social Housing client in the UK. As a Quantity Surveyor you will be working on a project overseeing planned refurbishment to medium rise blocks flats, including roofing and RWGs, replacement UPVC windows, external wall insulation, door entry systems, external drainage, hard landscaping, etc. You will join a team of experienced surveyors working on exciting projects alongside existing social housing partners.

The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience working with a Commercial Team in a similar field (ideally social housing) and be degree qualified. You should have a good work ethic and be able to work under a Project Surveyor within a team of surveyors of different levels of knowledge. Client interaction is a major part of the contract, so you should be able to liaise with clients and have the personal skills to build strong client relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Measurement – Due to the nature of the contract, measure properties provided by the client, including site visits and measurement of main external components (e.g., roof, brick repointing, external decorations).
  • Pricing of scoping documents – Post measurement, price scoping documents with an agreed Schedule of Rates, and agree priced schedules with the client.
  • Procurement – Work within the Commercial Team to procure the works packages, producing a procurement programme and liaising with the operations team to procure all work packages in a timely manner.
  • Subcontract management – Manage subcontractors selected from procurement and maintain full liaison throughout the programme of works.
Qualifications

  • Good work ethic and ability to work under a Project Surveyor within a team of surveyors of varying levels of knowledge.
