As part of the SWG Group, we deliver high-quality construction and development projects across Mid and North Wales, Shropshire, Herefordshire, and the West Midlands, with offices in both Welshpool and Wolverhampton.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor with at least three years’ experience who is ready to take the next step in their career. This is a role with a strong commercial management focus, helping to ensure our projects are delivered profitably, sustainably and to the highest standards.

Working closely with our Commercial Manager and project teams, you’ll play a key part in managing the financial and contractual success of projects across a wide range of sectors—from heritage refurbishments to large-scale new builds. For the right candidate, there are clear opportunities to develop and progress within the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all commercial aspects of projects, from procurement through to final accounts.
  • Prepare accurate cost plans, budgets, valuations and reports.
  • Negotiate and manage subcontractor and supplier packages.
  • Monitor costs to keep projects on budget while protecting company margins.
  • Produce monthly cost/value reconciliations and cash flow forecasts.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and colleagues.
  • Support senior management in securing and delivering repeat business.
What You’ll Bring
  • At least three years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent professional qualification (RICS membership desirable).
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience across new build, refurbishment and design & build projects.
  • Confident negotiation and communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of standard forms of contract (JCT/NEC).
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to manage multiple projects.
