An excellent opportunity for a skilled Quantity Surveyor with strong commercial insight to support investment, cost control and contract management across property improvement programmes.

SALARY: £67,232 to £70,000 per annum+ Generous Benefits (see below)

LOCATION: Hybrid working – Either the Ealing or Staines office, and the remaining time from home (limited office attendance required)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor supporting investment projects and works programmes. You will play a key role in procurement, forecasting and commercial reporting.

As a Quantity Surveyor you will provide commercial management across planned works, ensuring accurate cost control, contract compliance and value for money. You will support contractor performance, review financial data and manage payments through the project lifecycle.

The role suits a Quantity Surveyor who enjoys balancing technical accuracy with strategic thinking while ensuring safe, high-quality homes through effective financial management.

DUTIES
  • Preparing Tender Documentation: Produce bills of quantities and schedules of work
  • Managing Contractual Arrangements: Oversee financial processes with contractors, suppliers and consultants
  • Monitoring Expenditure: Track costs, forecasts, cash flow and financial performance information
  • Managing Budgets: Ensure value for money and identify financial risks or irregularities early
  • Assessing Claims: Evaluate and settle contractor claims and agree final accounts
  • Collaborating with Finance: Support monthly capitalisation processes
  • Supporting Compliance: Ensure adherence to policies, procedures and contractual terms
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
  • Minimum HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • Proven experience in contract administration and commercial management, with knowledge of NEC/JCT contracts
  • Proven record in the procurement and commercial delivery of construction contracts, ideally within housing
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to monitor budgets, manage risk and provide accurate forecast
  • Skilled in producing clear reports to support effective decision making
  • Confident in interpreting engineering drawings, method statements, risk assessments, and technical documentation
  • Experience in commercial management of property-related contracts, including dispute resolution
  • Strong knowledge of current legislation, British Standards, Codes of Practice and Building Regulations
  • Able to ensure compliance with KPI targets, Health and Safety requirements and environmental management standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and all levels
  • Resilient, performance focused and comfortable working in a multi-stakeholder, regulated environment
DESIRABLE
  • Membership of a professional body such as CIOB or RICS is desired
  • Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related subject is highly desirable

This role requires a DBS check.
