Quantity Surveyor – Plymouth

A leading contractor in the property services sector is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support ongoing planned and refurbishment projects across the region. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially-minded QS who enjoys working on a variety of planned works from tender stage through to final account.

The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key part in cost management and commercial control across multiple projects. You will be responsible for tender pricing, CVRs, subcontractor administration, and project forecasting—ensuring commercial performance is optimised throughout.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pricing and evaluation of tenders, particularly for planned maintenance projects
  • Full commercial oversight from pre-construction to completion
  • Preparation of cost value reconciliations and forecasts
  • Administration of subcontractor accounts, applications, and payments
  • Identification of cost-saving and margin-enhancing opportunities
Skills & Experience:
  • A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
  • Prior experience working on planned maintenance, or refurbishment works
  • Strong understanding of bills of quantities and commercial cost management tools
  • Proficient in Excel and comfortable using industry-specific software
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Capable of managing both direct labour and subcontract teams
