Job description

The Guinness Partnership is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, cost-effective planned investment projects.
As part of our Investment Planning and Commercial Team you will ensure financial efficiency and contractual compliance across investment programmes delivering refurbishment works to our existing homes.

You will be covering Greater Manchester and the wider North-West, along with Yorkshire and the Home Counties areas. Some travel will be required as part of this role as you support delivery programmes across these areas.

The successful Quantity Surveyor will work collaboratively with the Project Delivery team and external partners to ensure commercial and financial delivery is compliant with contracts, specifications, and a cost model.

The role is required to monitor expenditure, including cash flow forecasts, financial statements, calculation of monthly payments and accruals, presentation if interim and final accounts and associated commercial performance in accordance with good practise and relevant policies and procedures.

We are looking for someone with a strong commercial track record developed within a multi-stakeholder and highly regulated environment, you’ll also be able to demonstrate:

  • Quantity surveying experience within a similar organisation and asset maintenance teams.
  • Proven experience of providing excellent customer service.
  • Experience of cost and commercial management, across various contracts using a schedule of rates and target cost model.
  • Experience of programme delivery, financial monitoring and control.
  • Experience of developing, preparing and issuing performance reports.
  • Experience and effectiveness in negotiating costs and contract terms with contractors,
  • Good knowledge of building construction and repair techniques and related current legislation and regulations.
  • Knowledge of the CDM regulations and other Health and Safety Legislation
  • Effective planning and organisational skills.
  • Experience of overseeing contractors delivering multi discipline projects and ensuring Health & Safety requirements are followed.
  • Excellent IT skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Excel, and housing and property management systems.
