First Achieve Engineering are working with a long-established engineering business in the Alloa area, who are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for a hands‑on, detail‑focused Inspector who takes pride in precision, quality, and doing things right first time.

The Role

As a Quality Inspector, you'll be responsible for ensuring all machined components meet the required drawings and specifications. You'll carry out detailed dimensional checks using a range of manual measurement tools and ensure all quality records are completed accurately.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect raw, in-process, and final machined parts against engineering drawings and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Carry out receiving and first‑article inspections where required.
  • Use a wide range of manual metrology tools – micrometers, calipers, bore and thread gauges, height gauges, dial indicators, etc.
  • Record and maintain accurate inspection reports and non‑conformance records (NCRs).
  • Work closely with Engineering, Workshop, and Quality teams to resolve any issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality and HSE procedures.
About You

We're looking for someone who takes pride in accuracy, works well under pressure, and enjoys being part of a busy engineering environment.

You'll need
  • Time‑served or proven experience in precision/mechanical inspection.
  • Strong manual measurement skills in a workshop or manufacturing setting.
  • Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings (GD&T experience essential).
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with basic MS Office for record keeping.
  • Portable arm (Romer) experience beneficial, but training can be provided.
