Qualifications

  • Must have previous experience as a Quality Engineer in an engineering or fabrication environment.
  • Strong knowledge of BSI clauses and quality audits.
  • Ability to demonstrate hands-on approach in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support Quality Technicians in ensuring assembly parts are fit for purpose.
  • Escalate non-conforming parts to the purchasing team and impose immediate control.
  • Lead planned quality audits with BSI.
  • Maintain quality registers at designated sites.
  • Assist in supplier visits and audits.

Job description

As a Quality Engineer you will work alongside our Quality Technicians to keep a process of continuous improvement across all sites. To ensure that all items internally at Ifor Williams Trailers are "Fit For Purpose" and that Zero Trailers leave our sites with Quality Issues or Concerns, and to respond Rapidly when an issue occurs. Not to be afraid to escape issues both internally to the Senior Management Team, but externally to suppliers.,

  • Supporting the Site Leaders, Team Leaders and Quality Technicians in ensuring the parts used on the assembly line are correct and fit for purpose.
  • Escalating non-conforming parts within the site to the purchasing team and impose an immediate control
  • Lead Quality Audits that might be planned with Bsi.
  • Maintain the various Quality Registers used at the designated sites
  • Work closely with the site leaders, team leaders, planners and purchasing to ensure a fast resolution to any problems that are experienced.
  • Visits to other local sites as required
  • Assist in Supplier Visits and Audits
  • Work with our Customer Care Team to ensure any external issues are dealt with smoothly and effectively and any recurring problems are highlighted to the Site Leaders or Design Team., Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm
  • Office based with local travel between sites as required

  • Computer literate and understand Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc)
  • Work closely with our Quality Technicians and Continuous Improvement Engineer.
  • Look forwards to new challenges and ask questions. Able to accept instructions and take notes as required.
  • Be an excellent Timekeeper.
  • Willing to go the "Extra Mile" to achieve a goal, not content with sitting at a desk, but moving around the various production lines and sites.
  • Take "Ownership" of projects and see them through to the end.
  • Act quickly when issues arise and ensure a Robust Control is implemented fast and efficiently and all involved stakeholders are kept updated., Must hold at least 5 GCSE's (Must contain English, Maths and Science/Physics Grade B and above). Work experience may be substituted in place of formal qualifications.
  • Previous Quality Engineer experience, preferably in an Engineering or Fabrication environment.
  • Proficient in the use of standard Quality Tools
  • Able to clearly demonstrate operating as a Quality Manager in a fast paced manufacturing company.
  • In-depth knowledge of Bsi Clauses and able to command any Bsi Audits.
