This role will join the team to support the quality department. You will be responsible for the effective running of the QA lab, maintenance of the IMS system (BRC & 14001), key trend analysis and on-site problem solving for non-conformance/complaint root cause investigation. This is a hands‑on role within a small quality team.
Responsibilities
- Report directly into the quality manger and support site quality functions which include:
- Root cause analysis using FMEA, 8D, fishbone
- Assist with customer complaint handling (investigation, response, RMA)
- Lead and facilitate non-conformance investigation and reporting
- Assist with CAPA management
- Product testing (FAI) – ensuring product compliance and supporting quality technician
- Parts dimensional analysis (CMM)
- Data collection, collation and development of site improvement activities
- Quality training with production staff
- Day‑to‑day management of QA lab ensuring good housekeeping & 5S initiatives
- Calibration and management of lab equipment
- Support internal and external auditing
- Organise and manage external testing (sensory, migration)
- Interdepartmental group work (change control, trials, report writing)
- Trend analysis and monitoring – KPIs
- Review, develop and implement SOPs, WI and forms
- Capability studies and performance monitoring – SPC
- Assist with maintenance and analysis of management system (BRC, 14001)
- New product validations and subsequent report writing

Qualifications
- Educated to a high level in Quality or related topics (process/plastic/chemical engineering) or proven industry experience equivalent
- Experience using quality tools (8D, FMEA, Fishbone)
- Strong organisational (record‑keeping), report writing and communication skills
- Familiarity with NPD/new product launch processes
- Ability to use metrological equipment
- Experience of internal auditing
- Strong analytical skills (capability studies, SPC)
- IT literate and proficient in Microsoft Office
Desirable Skills
- A strong understanding of injection moulding
- Knowledge/familiarity with food packaging industry standards/regulations/legislation including BRC
- Previous experience in a plastic packaging manufacturing or FMCG company
- Previous experience using CMM machine (Hexagon preferable)
- Six Sigma belt or equivalent experience
- Knowledge/familiarity with ISO14001
- Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics
Full Time: Permanent Remote‑first, with 2 days at the office per month (Oxford Street, London).
