The ideal candidate will have a HND in engineering, NEBOSH certification, and strong knowledge of ISO9001. Quality Engineer

Salary: £30,000-£32,000 per annum. Based in Gillingham, Kent. Full‑time role, Monday to Friday (early finish on Friday). Benefits: 33 days holiday, pension, onsite parking, employee welfare scheme. Permanent position.

Our client is a well‑established and renowned engineering company and due to ongoing success they are looking for a Quality Engineer to join them at their Gillingham site in Kent. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a new, stand‑alone role that will involve working with inspectors and other shop‑floor staff.

Duties
  • Developing and maintaining quality procedures
  • Conducting audits to ensure compliance
  • Goods‑In inspection
  • Liaising with Sales team to resolve customer issues
  • Implementing corrective and preventative actions
  • Maintaining accurate quality records
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the business
  • Ensuring calibration of quality control equipment
  • Carrying out internal audits, ensuring procedures meet both internal and external standards
  • Reviewing and approving documentation related to manufacturing and packaging (SOPs and RAs)
  • Ongoing development of the QMS in line with continuous improvement programme
  • Leading & supporting customer and regulatory audits (including BS audits)
Qualifications
  • HND or similar in an engineering subject
  • Experience working in a quality assurance role within manufacturing
  • NEBOSH certified
  • Strong knowledge of ISO9001 and quality systems
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proficient with quality control tools and MS Office
  • Root cause analysis expertise
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels
  • Enthusiasm for continuous improvement initiatives
