Job Title:

Quality Defect Management Professional

Location:

Salary:

Circa £35,000 depending on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:
  • Supporting the development and deployment of Quality Function owned processes and systems with specific focus on defect management
  • Undertaking day to day operation and maintenance of, the UK & RoW Shared Services Defects Management system and associated tools
  • Defect data sourcing, collation, manipulation & review (including trend analysis)
  • Defect management process assurance (including defect escalation assurance)
  • Generating/supporting relevant business reporting
  • Working in close collaboration with the Delivery Stream Quality Leads to promote and assure the necessary communication, escalation and recording of defect management activities
  • Providing support to and cover for managers of other Quality Function or Performance Team owned systems (Continuous Improvement, UX Accelerator, Business Management System etc.)
  • Acting as the Quality Function's Information Coordinator: day to day management and maintenance of function Sharepoint sites, ensuring relevant documents and records are managed in accordance with the Information and Records Management policy
  • Establishing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, maintaining regular dialogue and managing expectations; owns and drives delivery of assigned tasks through effective stakeholder management
  • Embedding the delivery of continuous improvement both within their role and the wider Quality Function
  • Developing skills and knowledge to support and deliver root cause analysis and problem solving
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
  • Experience of quality defect management (corrective / preventive action) processes and tools
  • Experience of digital data governance, collation & manipulation and management systems implementing these activities
  • Knowledge of Sharepoint site management
  • Awareness of the ISO9001 quality standard
  • Awareness of Business Management Systems either as deployed across BAE Systems or equivalent quality best practice from industry
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of wider issue management, problem solving and continuous improvement approaches (root cause analysis; 8D; Lean Six Sigma etc.) would be beneficial

The Performance team:

The Performance Team is an enabling stream within the BAE Systems Shared Services organisation, delivering quality management and operational excellence process and tools across the business. This role will initially support a project creating and maintaining a system to manage service and project quality defects and related data. It is a newly created role, giving a unique opportunity to bring in new ideas as the team develop and implement process and launch a supporting software tool. The role will give good exposure to the range of projects and services that BAE Systems Shared Services delivers to the wider BAE Systems business
