Job summary

A well-established company in Daventry is looking for a Quality Control Chemist to analyze raw materials in their Quality Control Department. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Chemistry or a related field, with a proactive approach to quality control and a strong problem-solving nature. Responsibilities include raw material testing, maintaining laboratory records, and complying with ISO standards. Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemistry or related field – minimum 2:2 or equivalent.
  • Able to plan, prioritise and manage workload to meet deadlines.
  • Intermediate level of IT skills i.e. Microsoft word, excel or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Raw material testing
  • Ensure accurate records of raw material analysis are kept up to date.
  • Analytical analysis for quality control including wet chemistry technique and ICP-AES.
  • Provide support to the Quality Control function at Greenbest Ltd.
  • Manufacturing support.
  • Investigate internal or external complaints related to raw materials and final products.
  • Ensure accurate records are kept of all laboratory work.
  • Maintaining the upkeep and cleanliness of the QC and Analytical laboratories.
  • Procure laboratory consumables and general supplies of the lab.
  • Complying with ISO9001, ISO14001, and HSE legislation.
  • Monthly reporting of QC performance.
  • Responsible for maintaining the service contracts for analytical equipment.
