Job summary

A leading automotive components manufacturer in South Derbyshire is seeking a Composite Inspector to ensure quality compliance in the production of carbon fibre parts. The ideal candidate will have experience in the composite sector, particularly in F1 or motorsport, and be skilled in using Polyworks and Power Inspect. This is a long-term contract position with a focus on maintaining high quality standards and addressing any quality issues that arise.

Qualifications

Job Title: Composite Inspector

Organisation Overview

Our client specialises in the design and manufacture of high-performance carbon fibre and composite components for the world's most prestigious automotive brands.

It's due to continued growth that our client, operating from their modern facility in Derby, is looking for a talented Quality Inspector to join the team, on a long term contract.

The Role

The Quality Inspector will have solid experience within the composite sector. Ideally, you'll have recent experience working within a similar role in F1, Motorsport, Aerospace and/or Automotive with a good understanding of Polyworks and/or Power Inspect.

Role Summary
  • The ability to understand detailed drawings and composite layup tables
  • The ability to understand and compare product against visual standards.
  • Understanding of Polyworks Inspector or Power Inspect in conjunction with the Faro arm.
  • To help achieve the best possible Quality Standards within production and within each process.
  • To support the Quality Manager in the effective running of the QMS system.
  • The ability to verify dimensional accuracy of any part or tool used in the manufacturing process and communicate reports to internal manufacturing teams & external suppliers in a clear, concise manner.
  • To represent the Company Quality standards to customers.
  • To assist in the despatch and transport of all goods in accordance with the delivery schedule.
  • To promote the company's quality ethos in all aspects of the business.
  • To assist in the root cause analysis for all instances of waste and error
  • To progressively achieve reductions in waste
  • Adherence to the company's health and safety procedures in the production areas.
  • Comparting produced parts to the specifications of the original drawing / CAD or applicable standards
Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections on composite materials to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Identify and report any defects or non-conformities in the materials
  • Collaborate with production teams to address any quality issues in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and findings
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times
