Who is New England Seafood International?

New England Seafood International (NESI) was established in 1991 and is an importer and processor of premium fresh and frozen sustainable fish and seafood. NESI employs circa 650 people across two sites in the UK and imports a wide range of wild and farmed fish and shellfish from around the world. Job Purpose:

To ensure the food safety, quality, and legality of products produced during their shift, complying with the company's due diligence and HACCP controls.

Responsible for:

The auditing of raw materials, ingredients, finished products, and manufacturing processes within their assigned area of production.

Key accountabilities:
  • Assist in implementing new products or changes to existing lines, including documentation and liaising with production, and controlling product labelling.
  • Ensure compliance with current BRC/MSC standards, retailer COPs, and Local Authority requirements at the factory level.
  • Maintain the Quality Management System in line with standards to ensure ongoing factory compliance.
  • Monitor hygiene standards through audits to support the site Quality Manager in maintaining high standards.
  • Perform tasks such as pre-operational hygiene audits, scale verification, temperature checks, intake and dispatch controls, paperwork audits, document control, organoleptic testing, microbiological sampling, water sampling, CCP verification, GMP audits, glass and brittle plastic audits, fabrication audits, and KPI reporting.

The shift pattern is 4 days on, 4 days off, from 10 am to 10 pm.
