Overview
Working Hours: Sunday to Wednesday 6pm - 6am or Wednesday to Saturday 6pm - 6am. As a QA Supervisor, you’ll be the driving force behind quality excellence on site, leading, supporting, and developing the QA team while working closely with production, engineering, and technical colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the QA team to ensure all food safety and quality standards are achieved.
- Collaborate with Production to resolve quality and food safety issues, maintaining consistency across all shifts.
- Conduct internal audits on processes, documentation, and procedures to verify compliance with Quality Management Systems.
- Support external audits and customer visits, providing documentation and shop floor presence as required.
- Investigate incidents such as foreign body contamination, micro issues, or customer complaints and ensure root causes are addressed.
- Oversee QA paperwork, sampling schedules, and equipment checks (X-rays, check-weighers, autocoding).
- Train and develop QA staff to ensure consistency and confidence across all shifts.
- Work with the NPD team to ensure new product launches meet all technical and safety requirements before hitting production.
- Manage external laboratory testing and ensure sampling schedules run smoothly.
- Champion continuous improvement, supporting new methods and processes that enhance product quality and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Experience in food manufacturing within a QA or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and GMP principles.
- Internal audit experience and a track record of maintaining compliance.
- Intermediate Food Hygiene (Level 3) certification (or working toward it).
- Excellent communication and people management skills; the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- A problem-solving mindset with great attention to detail.
- IT literacy, including Excel, Word, and technical systems.
