Job description
Overview

Colleague Networks - internal groups where colleagues and their allies can share their own experiences, offer feedback on the way we do things at Greggs, and provide support to one another. This is a full-time role; however flexibility in this will be considered. The base location for this role is Greggs Balliol, Balliol Business Park, Longbenton, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

What you'll do
  • As a Quality Assurance Officer, you'll: supporting the QA Managers with day to day technical activities. This includes leading third party BRCGS / EHO audits and inspections in their absence, to ensure the sites certification / approval status is maintained.
  • Supporting the QA Managers on the site HACCP team and carrying out validation work and trend analysis to support the sites HACCP plan.
  • Assisting with the introduction and implementation of food safety and quality procedures for day-to-day manufacturing operations.
  • Leading management meetings and presenting technical information as requested by the QA Managers.
  • Providing technical support for site product recall / withdrawals and have the ability to lead the incident call in the absence of the QA Managers.
  • Monitoring and maintenance of the product testing requirements, including analysis of results and instigation of investigations and corrective action plans.
  • Supporting the site with the management of non-conforming products and compliant investigations.
  • Driving operational standards by completing internal audits in line with the sites internal audit schedule.
  • Overseeing the site QA Team to ensure effective implementation of food safety and quality management systems, and prerequisites.
  • Supporting the QA Team with their targets, objectives and development plans.
About you
  • We are looking for individuals who are driven, and can demonstrate:
  • A Degree or HNC Level Education in a Food Science based subject
  • HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 4 qualifications
  • A good understanding of BRC Global standard requirements and experience participating in internal and third party audits
  • Proven experience in investigations with strong attention to detail
  • A result focused approach with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others
  • Have experience of, and the ability to multi-task and work with multiple priorities calmly and at pace
  • Have advanced IT skills including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams
