Location: Lancashire
Pay Rate: £41 per hour
Contract Type: Agency (via Pertemps Social Care)

The Role

You’ll play a vital part in assessing and supporting children and families, intervening early where needed, and planning for permanence from day one. This role includes:

• Undertaking assessments, Section 47 Enquiries, and Children in Need work
• Working closely with families and multi-agency partners (police, health, education)
• Planning and delivering sustainable interventions with measurable outcomes
• Championing best practice, and aligning with the local Family Hubs and Early Help teams
• Ensuring the child’s voice is heard throughout the process

You’ll be part of a team that ensures children and families receive the right support at the right time — and that when social care involvement ends, support from the local community continues.

What You’ll Bring

• A Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
• 4+ years post-qualified, with solid experience in child protection, safeguarding, or family support
• Confident working in fast-paced, multi-agency environments
• Knowledgeable in Child Protection legislation and care planning
• Skilled in direct work with children and families
• A strong communicator and advocate for vulnerable children
• Creative, resilient, and reflective in your practice

• Manage a complex caseload with care and efficiency
• Complete high-quality assessments and care plans
