With an attractive £38.00 hourly rate, this ongoing contract involves providing essential out-of-hours support from Monday to Friday (5:00 pm – 1:30 am) and weekends or Bank Holidays (9:00 am – 5:30 pm or 5:00 pm – 1:30 am). You’ll play a key role in ensuring prompt and effective responses to urgent mental health assessments and safeguarding concerns.

What You Will Do:

Screen and prioritise requests for Mental Health Act assessments, ensuring urgent and high-risk cases are addressed promptly.

Conduct statutory out-of-hours mental health assessments, delivering timely and effective interventions.

Work autonomously and decisively, exercising professional judgment in high-pressure situations.

Collaborate closely with police, healthcare professionals, and other agencies to coordinate safe and effective responses.

Provide guidance and support to colleagues within the Emergency Duty Team, promoting best practice in mental health social work.

Maintain accurate, detailed records in line with legislative and departmental requirements.

About You:

You are EDT qualified and hold a valid AMHP qualification (Approved Mental Health Professional).

You bring significant post-qualifying experience in adult social care, particularly in crisis response or emergency duty work.

You possess strong decision-making, communication, and risk assessment skills, thriving in fast-paced environments.
