Job summary

An educational agency in the United Kingdom is seeking a passionate and resilient L3/2 SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with Autism in a Good school in North Birmingham. You will be responsible for motivating children, helping them access the curriculum, and providing one-to-one assistance. The position requires a Level 3 or 2 qualification in Teaching & Learning and SEN experience. This is a long-term role with potential for permanence for the right candidate. Job description

Are you a passionate and resilient L3/2 SEND Teaching Assistant? Aspire People are looking to recruit a qualified SEND teaching assistant for an amazing SEND school, to assist children with a primary diagnosis of Autism & associated challenging behaviours. We are looking for experienced teaching assistants who can encourage, motivate and support children within the classroom so that they can access the curriculum with confidence.

This is a Good school in the North Birmingham area, the children range from 3-16 years and all have an ASD diagnosis and many have associated complex behaviours.

The children you will be supporting most likely demonstrate behavioural dysregulation and lower-level disruption. To support these behaviours you will need to be able to motivate the children to help support the teacher whilst demonstrating a patient and understanding nature. This is a long-term role with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate:
  • Level 3 or 2 qualification in Teaching & Learning (ideal) from the UK
  • Long term (an academic term or more) experience of working with children on a one to one basis
  • SEN experience covering Autism
  • Able to communicate and build rapport with the children you support
  • Passionate about working with SEN children & dedicated to helping them thrive and achieve targets set in line with their individual education plan's (IEP)
