Ranked in both Chambers and Legal 500, the team acts for a broad range of professional regulators and individuals across sectors including law, health and social care, accountancy, and education.

This is an excellent opportunity for an advocate with extensive trial experience to work on high-profile, meaningful cases that directly contribute to protecting the public. With recent client wins and increased demand, the team is continuing to grow and offers both permanent and fixed-term opportunities. Hybrid working is supported, with team members typically in the office two days a week, unless attending hearings.

The Role

You will play a central role in representing clients in regulatory proceedings, with a particular focus on healthcare fitness-to-practise trials. Work will include:

  • Presenting cases before regulatory tribunals, including interim order applications, reviews, and contested hearings

  • Conducting advocacy in the High Court (subject to rights of audience) for interim order extensions and related applications

  • Preparing hearing documentation, including skeleton arguments and opening submissions

  • Advising on case strategy and the progression of investigations

  • Approving or drafting allegations for consideration by regulatory tribunals

  • Providing wider regulatory advice and contributing to the development of regulatory policy and practice

  • Opportunities to develop a practice as a legal advisor to regulatory panels

About You

We are looking for a qualified advocate with at least one year’s experience conducting contested and uncontested hearings in a regulatory or fitness-to-practise context. You will bring:

  • Strong trial advocacy skills and proven regulatory experience

  • Excellent analytical ability and sound technical knowledge

  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach

  • Outstanding communication and client care skills

  • Self-motivation and the ability to take responsibility for your own caseload

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package

  • Opportunity to work within one of the UK’s leading Regulatory teams in a Top 100 firm

  • A mix of tribunal and High Court advocacy on high-profile cases

  • Supportive and collaborative team environment with access to leading regulatory expertise

  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements

  • Genuine opportunity to contribute to policy-shaping and the future of regulatory practice
