Vickerstock are proud to be working in partnership with an industry-leading technology company as they seek to appoint a QA System Test Engineer to join their expanding R&D team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment, testing both hardware and software systems developed fully in-house.

What you will do:
  • Act as the focal point for all system test activities within the R&D environment.
  • Test complex embedded software systems (both black box and white box).
  • Develop a deep understanding of products to provide a customer/user perspective that enhances software development.
  • Plan test setups based on use cases and technical requirements; define efficient test strategies and infrastructure.
  • Work closely with developers to analyse bugs, key requirements, and test/system aspects.
  • Provide feedback to the development team to improve product design.
  • Develop tools and test setups to automate testing for rapid release schedules.
  • Evaluate field issues and propose practical solutions.
  • Conduct various types of testing, including:
  • GUI testing
  • Usability testing
  • Software performance testing
  • Compatibility testing
  • Security testing
  • Regression testing
  • Installation testing
  • Recovery testing
Essential Requirements:
  • A degree in a numerate/scientific subject (Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science) OR HNC level qualification plus significant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Test Plan and Test Case creation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong report writing abilities with the capability to present complex data clearly and concisely.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritise effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Desirable Requirements:
  • Automation expertise with Python.
  • Ability to design, develop, and execute automation scripts.
