Job description
QA - Nights

Fixed 5 Nights a week 10pm-6am

Overview

Most people don't dream of spending their nights in a factory making sure labels are right and paperwork stacks up. If you notice when the ketchup bottle says best before and not use by — or your idea of fun is spotting a misprinted barcode before anyone else does — you might be the kind of person for this role.

This isn't a “sit back and observe” sort of role. You'll be walking the floor, auditing everything from hygiene standards to paperwork trails, making sure nothing slips through the net. You’ll be the one ensuring food safety, quality, and legality are actually happening — not just living in a policy manual.

Responsibilities
  • Walk the floor auditing hygiene standards and verifying paperwork trails.
  • Ensure food safety, quality, and legality are actually happening.
  • Identify and report issues promptly, including hygiene slips and dodgy paperwork.
  • Maintain rigorous attention to detail and prevent non-conformances from slipping through.
Details
  • Based in Grimsby.
  • Report into a QA Supervisor; you should have enough backbone to say “no” to people more senior when standards aren't being met.
  • Fixed 5 nights a week, 10pm-6am.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and work under tight production timelines.
  • Eye for detail that borders on obsessive.
  • Familiarity with HACCP, BRC standards, and quality management systems (or solid FMCG QA experience).
  • Willingness to call out issues when something's off, whether hygiene or paperwork.
Benefits & Perks
  • 28 days holiday. Pension scheme. Life insurance. Cycle-to-work.
  • Unlimited hot drinks.
  • Free parking.
  • Referral bonus for bringing in like-minded detail hunters.

It's not glamorous. It's not easy. But it matters. And if you're wired the right way, it’ll probably be the most satisfying night job you'll ever do.
