Overview

Brightwork are currently recruiting for PVG Catering Assistants for a number of temporary assignments across Edinburgh on an ongoing basis.

Working within mainly Schools and Care Homes, the successful candidates will have experience working within a catering environment.

Shifts and Pay

Shifts are on a Mon–Thu basis across a variety of hours within 8:00am – 2:30pm. In return, we offer a competitive rate of pay of £16 per hour, paid weekly.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with food preparation
• Serving meals to pupils, service users and members of the public
• Processing payments if required
• Cleaning of all kitchen equipment and dishes
• Ensuring the kitchen area is clean in line with hygiene requirements
• Assisting with stock control, rotation and movement
• General duties as requested

About you / Qualifications

• Have experience within a catering environment
• Have a working knowledge of food and kitchen hygiene regulations and best practice
• Be available to start immediately and commit to an ongoing temporary position
• Holding a PVG Certificate is beneficial but not mandatory as we can apply on your behalf

PVG / Membership Note

Please note that due to the locations being regulated environments, the successful candidates will be required to be a current PVG scheme member or be willing to apply for membership/updates at their own cost.
