A healthcare services provider in Southampton is looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join the procurement team temporarily. The ideal candidate will manage purchasing tasks, liaise with suppliers, and ensure timely order processing. Experience in procurement within healthcare is preferred. The role offers a salary of £25,396.80, a structured working schedule, generous holiday allowance, and various employee benefits.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our procurement team on a temporary basis (covering maternity leave). This role is integral to ensuring the timely, accurate, and cost-effective purchasing of parts, indirect materials, and services.
As a Purchasing Assistant, you will be expected to adopt both a proactive and reactive approach to purchasing the required equipment, and raise purchase orders from requisition – manual and system generated. You will also be expected to liaise with suppliers regarding price, availability and lead times.
There will also be an expectation to manage purchase orders from ‘end-to-end’, meaning resolution of corresponding invoice queries as and when they occur.
