Are you passionate about supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs?

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Youth Mental Health Worker at a specialist SEMH school in Maidenhead. This is a rewarding role within a nurturing and inclusive setting, designed to support children who experience significant challenges with their mental health and emotional regulation.

This is a specialist provision that caters specifically to children with social, emotional, and mental health needs. The school offers a therapeutic and structured environment where students are supported both emotionally and academically in small class settings. The dedicated staff work collaboratively to promote positive relationships, emotional growth, and individual development.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with students who require additional support in managing and understanding their emotions
  • Provide 1:1 and small group interventions focused on emotional regulation and well-being
  • Support students throughout the school day, helping them engage positively with their learning
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Be a role model of consistency, patience, and compassion
Ideal candidate
  • Passionate about mental health and driven to make a difference in young people’s lives
  • Calm, resilient, and empathetic in challenging situations
  • A team player with a positive, proactive approach
  • A background in psychology, criminology, sociology, sport, art, or music is advantageous, but not essential. Most importantly, we welcome applications from individuals with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people and a strong work ethic.
