Psychology Graduate - Teaching Assistant - Slough - January Start

Are you a Psychology graduate with a keen interest in child development, mental health, or educational psychology?

A welcoming and supportive school in Slough is seeking a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team this January. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate looking to gain practical experience working with children and young people with additional needs - ideal for those considering a future in educational psychology, clinical psychology, or child and adolescent mental health.

As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and students who require additional emotional, behavioural, or academic support. You will play a key role in helping to create a safe and positive learning environment where all pupils can thrive.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting pupils' emotional and behavioural needs in and out of the classroom
  • Assisting teachers in delivering lesson content and helping students engage with learning
  • Working 1:1 with pupils or in small groups to support learning and social development
  • Observing, recording, and reporting on pupil progress to support interventions
  • Collaborating with SEN and pastoral teams to implement tailored support strategies

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience that will support your understanding of psychological theory in a real-world educational setting.

  • Salary: 90 - 95 per day
  • Hours: Full time, 8:30am - 4:00pm
