Litigation Solicitor / Chartered Legal Executive - Nottingham

We are seeking an experienced and client‑focused Litigation Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join a specialist legal team handling landlord and tenant disputes alongside broader civil litigation matters.

This role offers the opportunity to lead case strategy, represent clients throughout proceedings, and provide commercially sound, practical legal advice.

Primary Duties
  • Deliver strategic legal guidance on civil litigation matters, with a focus on housing and tenancy‑related disputes
  • Represent clients from initial instruction through to settlement, hearing, or final resolution
  • Analyse case risks, advising clients on the most pragmatic and cost‑effective route to success
  • Prepare and draft high‑quality legal documents including pleadings, letters, applications, bundles, and supporting evidence
  • Conduct thorough legal research to ensure advice reflects the latest legislation and case law
  • Progress cases proactively, resolving issues efficiently to maintain momentum
  • Maintain strong professional communication with clients, legal opponents, and internal teams
  • Provide regular and transparent updates on case costs, managing expectations effectively
  • Lead and participate in client meetings and consultations
  • Maintain accurate time recording and assist with billing and cost tracking
  • Work towards individual financial and performance targets, managing deadlines and competing priorities
  • Stay informed on legal developments through CPD, legal publications, and case law updates
  • Support a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge and contributing to continuous improvement
Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
  • Minimum of 5 years PQE
  • Proven experience managing civil litigation matters
  • Strong client care skills with a commercial and solutions‑driven approach
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload with precision and meet multiple deadlines
  • Familiarity with legal case management systems
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office
Desirable Experience
  • Background in property, housing, or tenancy‑related litigation
  • Experience using Proclaim or a similar legal CMS platform
