Overview

A leading UK law firm is seeking a Newly Qualified Solicitor to join its Property Litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer to develop a broad contentious property practice within a supportive, high-quality team acting for a diverse client base.

The role offers exposure to a wide range of commercial and residential property disputes, with early responsibility, strong supervision, and clear opportunities for progression.

Role & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist and advise on a variety of property-related disputes, including but not limited to :

Commercial and residential landlord and tenant disputes
  • Lease renewals and terminations (including work under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954)
  • Dilapidations claims
  • Rent arrears recovery
  • Possession proceedings
  • Trespass and boundary disputes
  • Easements, restrictive covenants, and rights of way
  • Property-related contractual disputes
Advising on dispute avoidance and strategic risk management

You will be responsible for managing your own caseload (with appropriate supervision), supporting senior fee earners on more complex matters, drafting pleadings and correspondence, conducting legal research, and engaging directly with clients, counsel, and other stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements
  • Newly Qualified Solicitor (or due to qualify shortly)
  • Demonstrable interest in property litigation / contentious real estate
  • Relevant experience gained during a training contract or equivalent (ideally including a seat in property litigation or commercial litigation)
  • Strong academic background
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commercially aware with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
