Overview

Are you a skilled property solicitor looking for a new challenge within a values-led organisation? Join Torus as a Property Conveyancing Lawyer (or equivalent) and help us deliver a high-quality, responsive legal service across a diverse property portfolio.

This is an excellent opportunity to use your legal expertise in a social housing context and make a tangible impact in the communities we serve. This role is based in Liverpool, with agile working and travel to our St Helens and Warrington offices.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Manage a caseload of residential property matters including Right to Buy (RTB), Right to Acquire (RTA), staircasing, shared ownership, and leasehold issues.
  • Maintain oversight of the Group’s commercial property portfolio, ensuring appropriate support is in place where required.
  • Provide timely and practical legal advice to client departments and maintain accurate records of case progression.
  • Work collaboratively across the business to deliver seamless and customer-focused legal services.
  • Build strong working relationships with external legal providers, ensuring effective use of resources.
  • Contribute to internal training initiatives to improve knowledge and drive operational efficiency.
  • Stay current on legislation, regulatory developments, and legal best practices affecting housing and property law.
  • Actively challenge and improve legal processes to enhance team performance and service outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
  • Degree level education or equivalent relevant training/experience.
  • Professional legal qualification as recognised by the SRA or equivalent body.
  • Significant experience of maintaining a caseload of both transactional matters and otherwise (i.e. drafting leases both residential and commercial).

  • The interview will be competency-based to assess your experience and suitability for the role.
