The directorate is evolving out of a unit within the existing Sport and Gambling Directorate, with which it will need to continue working seamlessly. Both roles will sit in the Grassroots Facilities Investment Programme Management Office (PMO) that is responsible for DCMS's direct capital investment into grassroots sports facilities.
