Job description

One of my local government clients is seeking an organised and motivated Project Support Officer to provide administrative and project delivery support within the Highways and Transport Service. The role is essential in ensuring that high-profile transport and highways projects are managed efficiently and delivered effectively.

Key Responsibilities :

Assist with the delivery of Highways and Transport projects

Communicate project updates to internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders

Organise meetings, prepare publications, and take minutes

Maintain accurate records, update project plans, and support quality assurance

Provide financial support including raising purchase orders, processing invoices, and producing financial reports

Manage and triage correspondence

Assist with highway search enquiries and maintain associated documentation

Support data analysis under direction from the Programme Manager

Assist in improving internal processes, documenting changes, and ensuring effective communication

Make website updates using content supplied by project leads

Requirements :

Strong administrative background, ideally within projects or public sector services

Excellent communication skills and confidence interacting with stakeholders

Good organisational skills and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

Strong IT skills including spreadsheets, data entry, and document management

Experience with minute taking and financial administration is desirable
